q) should we buy land first?
We want to build a new house. Is it better to already own land before talking to a builder, or would we be smarter to get a builder involved before we purchase anything?

The answer is that we can work with you either way. It can be helpful to have us check out the property you're considering, to look at things like how the house could be situated, grading issues, views, access to utilities, and whether a given house design will work well on a particular site. But we also very frequently work with clients who have already bought their land. We'll be happy to advise you and find the best solutions to any challenges related to your existing site.
Q) how do you deal with problems that arise during construction?
Friends of ours had a tough time getting straight answers from their builder when something wasn't going the way they expected. We want to be sure we choose a builder who handles issues and communicates effectively.

With any complex building project, the unexpected can happen. But because we place a high priority on developing a close working relationship with you, it's rare that any issue ever escalates into a problem. We regularly walk through the project with you and keep you informed of progress all along the way. My project manager and I also happen to be detail fanatics, so we're able to think ahead and avert potential problems. In fact, our attention to detail and our follow-through are qualities that even our most discriminating clients have come to trust. You'll find that I'm "on call" long after you move in to help make sure you are satisfied with your home.
